Thank you for attending the recent Infrastructure Master Plan (IMP) - Preliminary Policy and Program Recommendations virtual information session on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Community Associations play an integral part in shaping our city and your support and ongoing collaboration is very important to us and our work on the IMP.
Engagement is a critical part of this project, and the City of Ottawa is committed to connecting with key stakeholders, including Community Associations.
The dialogue and feedback received during our meeting was very encouraging and we appreciate you taking the time to provide input on behalf of your local communities.
Here are a few highlights discussed at the information session:
Project overview, including key components of the IMP, its importance and associated timelines and next steps.
Challenges and opportunities associated with intensification were discussed.
The two new proposed programs were presented in accordance with the IMP:
Intensity Capacity Management Program: to identify, plan and implement local system capacity upgrades to support intensification
On-Site Stormwater Management Program: to manage and control the impacts of intensification on storm drainage
The City is committed to strengthening policies related to the infrastructure planning including:
Additional technical direction to the planning and approval of infrastructure will be included in the IMP to support the New Official Plan
Integration of climate change considerations

Les associations communautaires jouent un rôle essentiel dans le modelage de notre ville. Votre aide et votre fidèle collaboration sont très importantes pour nous et pour les travaux que nous consacrons au PDI.
La consultation est un aspect crucial de ce projet, et la Ville d’Ottawa a la volonté de consulter les principaux intervenants, dont les associations communautaires.
Le dialogue qui s’est déroulé et les commentaires exprimés pendant cette séance ont été très encourageants, et nous vous remercions de prendre le temps de nous adresser vos commentaires au nom de votre communauté locale.
Voici un aperçu des principaux points dont il a été question pendant cette séance d’information :
tour d’horizon du projet, dont les principales constituantes du PDI, son importance, les délais correspondants et les prochaines étapes;
difficultés et perspectives liées à la densification;
les deux nouveaux programmes proposés, présentés conformément au PDI :
le Programme de gestion de la capacité de densification, qui vise à recenser, planifier et mettre en œuvre les perfectionnements à apporter à la capacité des systèmes locaux pour étayer la densification;
le Programme de gestion des eaux pluviales sur le site, pour gérer et maîtriser les incidences de la densification sur le drainage des eaux pluviales.
La Ville a la volonté de renforcer les politiques liées à la planification des infrastructures, dont :
l’orientation technique complémentaire de la planification et de l’approbation des infrastructures à inclure dans le PDI pour étayer le nouveau Plan officiel;
l’intégration des considérations relatives aux dérèglements climatiques.
