Rinks

RINK USERS

Our two neighbourhood rinks are: Bradley Ridge off of Renaud Road just before you enter the greenbelt, and Patrick Dugas, on Compass Street near Yellowbirch.

OUR RINKS ARE VOLUNTEER-POWERED, not run by the City. If you would like to volunteer to help our rink operators, click here. High school students interested in Rink Trailer Supervision, scroll down.

Please do your part as a user of the rinks by scraping the ice with the shovels provided when you are finished skating, if possible.

Thanks to the generous contributions of our sponsors and of our neighbours, we will have a HEATED TRAILER at each rink. The trailer is supervised and opened during the following hours:

  • Mondays to Fridays 6 to 9 PM

  • Saturdays and Sundays 1 to 5 PM

  • Saturdays and Sundays 6 to 9 PM

In the event of poor weather causing unsafe ice conditions, the rinks will remain closed at the discretion of our volunteer rink operators.

Please obey the signage and the announcements of rink closures on our Facebook Group (for BECA residents). Failure to do so may result in delays in opening the rink.

RINK  TRAILER SUPERVISORS (high school students)

For possible rink trailer supervisor positions for the Patrick Dugas and Bradley Ridge rinks, you must:

  • be at least 14 years old.

  • have access to a cell phone (at the trailer).

  • unlock/lock/supervise trailer.

  • assist in clearing ice during each shift.

  • remain on-site during entire shift.

  • not smoke or vape in the trailer or at the rink.

  • Tentative shifts:*
    Monday-Friday 6 PM to 9 PM

Weekends 1PM to 5 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM

*Trailer opening is subject to supervisor availability.

Important information:

  • The rinks and trailer opening depend on the weather and condition of the ice. It might open later in December. Stay tuned!

  • Shifts MAY be cancelled if the ice/weather conditions are poor and we will not be opening the trailer unless we need you to supervise to keep people off the ice so it does not get damaged.

  • You will only be paid for shifts that you work (ie. if  you cancel your shift or if we cancel shift because of bad weather, you will not be paid).

  • PLEASE let us know in advance if you cannot make your shift so that we can find another trailer supervisor, if possible, to take your shift and so we can update the schedule.

  • We will give you more instructions when we get started.

Please fill out the form below, and tell us which rink you are interested in, your availability (days of the week, times), and your cell phone number. To be a rink maintenance volunteer, please click here.
